Would love to chat with anyone that has built a property grid with dearImgui with undo/redo support. I’d like to pick your brain on perhaps better solutions to the issues I’m having. I have a solution but its a lot of boilerplate code and backend machinery…

Undo/redo might be orthogonal to a property grid editor. Which issues are you currently facing?

What do you mean orthogonal?! It’s an editor, most editors offer undo/redo…
I’m basically having headaches trying to only modify the source data when an edit operation completes. Right now it looks like I need to make a duplicate of the source data as a working copy.

Ihmo there’s some form of orthogonal from actual widgets events, successive uses of a sliders with release ought to be merged anyway.

Not sure about that, many times a user will set the slider to something, then set it to something else, then a third time.
After that, they often use undo/redo to jump between edits to visualize the different options. This is a pretty common usage as far as I’m aware.

What you dont want is to track intermediate changes while dragging, only the “committed” edit action (for a slider = on release).

The thing is even with this it often becomes a lots of changes, the “commit” often happens several times in a row, but i understand its more logical.
