I don’t even know how to answer a question like this. Very little of what I know was actually taught to me. Most of what I do I had to search for or figure out in my own…

I would consider reading something in a book to be a form of teaching. But I can relate to having to figure out a lot of stuff on your own. Much of the teaching is horribly inadequate.

In which case I’d say I saw the formulas in some book and thy were good enough for me. Although I am a visual thinker and I tend not to remember the formulas… often re-deriving them using visual or geometric interpretations. Still not sure where that places me :)
