I can't help but have this feeling that we're missing something in programming language design that will make SIMD much easier for the average programmer to use.

@nicbarkeragain 128-bit seems to be pretty widespread, so it might be a good baseline? even in armv7 cores, not sure about risc-v and powerpc though.

128-bit seems to be pretty widespread, so it might be a good baseline? even in armv7 cores, not sure about risc-v and powerpc though. and then the compiler could just divide the number of iterations by 2 or 4, or am i missing something?
