I love everything about this. And I agree, it’s fine. We should do more health-checking within programs, and yes, it can be optimized out.
And if I may grind an axe — I prefer this kind of voluntary, easy, and clarity-inducing health-check, to the kind of discipline & bondage “regulate EVERYTHING” approach to “safety.”
