Nice writeup. Summing up lots of thoughts I had about this recently. Although I do think there are evidently at least SOME situations where conditions are created such that FOSS encourages more creation than consumption. (or at least sufficient creation)
One guess is that those converge around projects where massive consumption needs to happen to justify creation. But I’m not 100% sure.
I AM glad though, that various variations around the FOSS model are now more accepted (you used to be bullied if you wanted to publish with a source available license that still requires payment in some conditions, like commercial use)
