I’ve been studying geometric algebra on and off, and recently I’m starting to feel the desire to share what I’ve learned about GA and its applications in games. Before I can find time to write, here’s a dump of resources I find useful. 🧵

My first contact with geometric algebra was @EricLengyel’s GDC talk, Math for Game Programmers: Introduction/Grassmann Algebra in Game Development. The title caught my eye because I had no idea what GA was and I like all things math in games. https://gdcvault.com/play/1020787/Math-for-Game-Programmers-Introduction

There is a solid discord of GA people. I had to self-teach in a hurry to work with conformal GA and the discord has a bunch of helpful people on it. Can’t recall its name but not a ton of GA discords out there

Can’t remember if that is the one I was on or not. Lost phone with my outlook
2-factor app so can’t log into Discord at the moment. I recall there being a nice (to me) but (generally) grumpy guy that either used or maintained ganja. There was a British dude that was always helpful

Mine is pretty new, so you were likely on bivector. I know who the person you’re talking about is, and he has caused a lot of problems in the past, unfortunately, along with several others who hang out there. If the British dude is who I think he is, he also visits my channel.

Please also be aware that much of the information you’ll find on the bivector Discord is outdated or downright incorrect. Various ego problems have led to them suppressing newer research that makes their methods look not so stellar, and they’re handling it badly. I’m not trying to be aggressive, competitive, or malicious in any way by saying this, but people learning GA should understand the possibility they’re being fed a load of crap from questionable sources. If something seems intuitively inelegant and hacky, then listen to your gut because you might actually be correct.
