Rolling my own, I don’t support 10xx because they lack 16-bit support, and I engineer things that otherwise couldn’t fit in the register file. But I’m likely the only person who can claim that excuse.

btw, most ppl in graphics programming have serious skill issues, and just think in too much complexity, tbh.

Gfx programmers, often don’t have a skill problem, the real root is often just a boundary problem, as in their minds evolved in an artificial sandbox, that they don’t yet realize they can walk out of

There’s no out of box thinking, just having a fuckton of boxes.
Usually, they have just one. That’s the skill issue.
They need to play piano, touch grass, learn welding or carpentry, build a house, fix their car, and maybe see actual software people want to use 😅

Real challenge now is that those who learned to author well due to the physical limitations of those vintage machines are retiring/dying out, and generations of layer-grammers never learned from their wisdom
